Credits
In case you were wondering who made this site, let me tell you: my name is Meaghan, I am a fairly youthful Canadian female person who enjoys making websites. I am a huge fan of all things Joss, and I was blown away by the greatness of Serenity. Don't get me wrong -- I was expecting it to be good, of course, because I adore Firefly and couldn't really imagine Joss making a crappy movie out of it. But honestly, when I saw the film, it exceeded all my expectations. It's true to the spirit of the show, but it's also its own thing and doesn't just come off like an extended episode of Firefly. The characters are as they should be, the dialogue is great, and the story ... well, the story was totally unexpected and surprising and brilliant. There was nothing I didn't like about it (well, maybe one thing *curses Joss*), and I tried to do my part for the box office by forcing as many people as I could to go see it. Of course, I didn't have to try very hard since I've already managed to introduce most people I know to the brilliance of the Jossverse. :) Being an obsessive fanlisting-builder, I knew there was no way I could not apply for the movie's fanlisting. I was lucky enough to get it (as you can tell) despite some pretty stiff competition, and hopefully I will be able to do justice to the movie with this site.
For the site title, I went with Belief, simply because I think that's the main theme of the movie, and really it's central to Mal's character: his loss of belief after the war, and his quest to find something to hold on to.
The following people helped me out a lot by giving me feedback on the site as I was building it, and offering their support: Julie, Morgan, Holly, and Hoppy. Thank you very much, guys - I really appreciate your help!
Layout & Resources
This site was made in PhotoShop and EditPlus, and it should look as it was intended in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Netscape at pretty much any resolution over 800x600 I think; however it was designed for Mozilla Firefox and a resolution of 1024x768 and will likely look best when viewed with that combination.
The layout you're looking at is entitled Not a Reaver. The cap used in the layout is from here, and I used a few textures from here on the image. The font is Dominican Italic.
I've used scripts from Codegrrl as well as a code snippet suggested by Julie, a modification by Jem, and several scriptlets of my own devising to make the site work. This site, like all my other sites, is hosted at Dreamhost, which is an excellent company and highly recommended by me. :)
